Features: Use on most work surfaces - no mouse pad required. Optical
sensor stays precise - no moving parts to clean. Fast, wheel-based scrolling.
Designed for Windows 98/NT
The
hassle-free mouse with an eye for precision.
Do you have an uncooperative mouse? Does it skip and jam and cause frustration?
Microsoft IntelliMouse Optical is the solution. We've replaced that
old-fashioned mouse ball with an IntelliEyeTM optical sensor that tracks
movement 1,500 times per second -providing smooth and precise motion. No mouse
ball means no moving parts to clean or wear down. And, the optical sensor is
sealed in to keep out the dirt and lint that can cause a traditional mouse to
skip or jam.
Wheel
for Scrolling and Zooming
Save time and steps.
Move through documents by simply rolling the wheel forward or backward-instead
of clicking on a scroll bar. Use the wheel to see either close-up or big-picture
views without having to use menus or toolbars (in compatible applications).
Two
Side Buttons for Easy Internet Navigation.
Browse the Web
without using toolbars or the keyboard. Simply use either side button to go
forward or backward on the Internet. Or, you can program the buttons to execute
routine actions in many of your favorite programs.
Ambidextrous
Design for Comfort.
Whether you are left-or right-handed, or have a large or small hand, the design
of IntelliMouse Optical feels comfortable. The shape supports your hand and
encourages natural posture.
No
Mouse Ball-Stays Accurate Over Time
Mice that track
movement using rubber balls need to be cleaned frequently because dust and lint
can make the mechanism stick or skip. The IntelliEye™ sensor has no moving
parts, so your mouse is smooth and precise. Learn
more about IntelliEye Technology.
Optical
Sensor Works on Hundreds of Surfaces
The precise optical
sensor detects motion on hundreds of surfaces, including wood, plastic, or even
your pant leg!

- The IntelliEye
sensor performs best on surfaces with detail to track. It will not function on
surfaces without visible detail (e.g., glass) or surfaces where it will see its
reflection (e.g.,mirrors, glossy surfaces). The sensor may also have difficulty
tracking on highly repetitive patterns (e.g., some printed photographs from
magazines or newspapers).
